Part Time Academy
Overview

North Toronto Academy offers part-time and summer OSS credit course programs for Grade 9-12 students.
The part-time program is ideal for students who need to repeat or upgrade a course, who want to do a course over the summer to reduce the workload in the coming school year, or who need a more flexible schedule by which to complete credits.
|
|
Small class size
Classes are kept small, with a maxium student teacher ratio of 4:1 to ensure students can receive individual attention, coaching and support. Actual average class size is 3.
|
Private Study Credits (PSC)

In accordance with the Ministry guidelines (OSS 6.8.2) and the school policies, students may request to earn a credit through Independent Study. Students enrolled in an PSC may work at home or at the school with the support, and direction, of their teacher.
|
Flexible Assessment Strategies

Just as each person has a natural learning style, so do they have a natural style for communicating information (i.e. writing, speaking, through AV presentations, etc.). North Toronto Academy offers flexibility in how we evaluate students' knowledge.
At the discretion of the Principal, the school may grant adjustments to the evaluation policy. These may include extension of time on tests and examinations or individualized evaluation (for example, greater emphasis on oral testing).
